Veneer Porcelain - Hanoi treatment

Planning porcelain veneer treatment in Hanoi

Porcelain veneers are thin ceramic restorations designed for the visible front surface of individual teeth. They can improve tooth shade, shape, length, proportions, small gaps, minor chips, and the overall balance of the smile. Before treatment is recommended, the dentist examines the enamel, remaining tooth structure, gums, existing restorations, smile line, and bite.

At Nha Khoa Mễ Trì, Emax Press, Lisi Press, and Ceramay Press veneers are available from 6,000,000 to 10,000,000 VND per tooth. Smile design, diagnostic wax-up, and a smile mock-up are included in the confirmed veneer plan. Treatment is usually completed in approximately 1-2 weeks, although dental, gum, or bite treatment may extend the schedule.

Porcelain veneers are not suitable for every tooth or every bite. Some patients may need whitening, bonding, orthodontics, a crown, gum care, or another restorative option instead. A free initial consultation and clinical examination are used to confirm suitability, the expected number of veneers, preparation requirements, material choice, treatment timing, and final cost.

Porcelain veneer options, treatment, and costs

What porcelain veneers can address

A porcelain veneer is made for one tooth and bonded to its front surface. Veneers may be considered for:

  • Discoloration that does not respond well to whitening
  • Small gaps between front teeth
  • Teeth that appear too small, short, or uneven
  • Minor chips and irregular enamel surfaces
  • Mild rotation or misalignment
  • Old cosmetic fillings that have changed color
  • Uneven tooth length or proportions

Veneers are usually more suitable when enough healthy enamel and stable tooth structure remain. Teeth with major structural damage, active decay, infection, insufficient enamel, severe misalignment, significant bite problems, or uncontrolled grinding may require treatment first or a different approach.

Lisi Press7,000,000 VND per toothAbout 265 USDEU12 years
Ceramay Press10,000,000 VND per toothAbout 380 USDSwitzerland15 years

Prices are calculated per tooth. Approximate USD amounts use the exchange rate reference from 20 July 2026 and are rounded to the nearest 5 USD. The final treatment price is confirmed and paid in VND.

The suitable material should not be chosen only by price or warranty length. The dentist also considers the underlying tooth shade, enamel thickness, desired shape, number of treated teeth, smile line, and bite. Warranty applies according to the clinic's conditions and does not guarantee the exact clinical lifespan of a veneer.

What is included in the veneer price

The confirmed porcelain veneer plan includes:

  • Initial examination and consultation
  • Assessment of the teeth, gums, enamel, and bite
  • Dental and smile photographs
  • Dental impressions or digital scanning
  • Tooth-shape, proportion, and shade planning
  • Smile design
  • Diagnostic wax-up
  • Smile mock-up
  • Tooth preparation when required
  • Temporary veneers when required
  • Laboratory fabrication
  • Veneer try-in and assessment of shade, shape, fit, and proportions
  • Final bonding and bite adjustment
  • Post-bonding review

The mock-up provides an opportunity to preview the proposed tooth length, proportions, smile line, and overall design before the final veneers are completed.

Costs that may be charged separately

Treatment outside the main veneer process is quoted separately when clinically required. This may include dental imaging when indicated, decay treatment, fillings, root canal treatment, scaling, gum treatment, gum contouring, whitening before final shade selection, orthodontic treatment, crowns for structurally weak teeth, management of infection, additional bite treatment, or a protective night guard. Any additional treatment and cost should be explained before it is performed.

Tooth preparation and no-prep veneers

Porcelain veneers often require minimal enamel preparation to create space for the ceramic, improve tooth shape, and allow the restoration to fit naturally. The amount depends on tooth position, underlying shade, enamel thickness, desired shape, veneer thickness, finishing margins, neighboring teeth, and bite.

Some small teeth, mild gaps, or teeth positioned slightly behind the dental arch may be suitable for very minimal-prep or no-prep veneers. When teeth already project forward, have a dark underlying shade, or need a substantial shape change, avoiding preparation may create a bulky or unbalanced result. A no-prep approach can only be confirmed after direct examination.

Treatment time and process

Porcelain veneer treatment is usually completed in approximately 1-2 weeks from the start of the process to final bonding. Timing depends on the number of teeth, enamel and gum health, bite, selected shade, extent of the shape change, laboratory fabrication, try-in requirements, and any treatment needed beforehand. A fixed completion date or number of appointments should not be assumed before examination.

The usual process includes:

  1. Examination of the teeth, gums, enamel, and bite
  2. Discussion of the preferred shade and tooth shape
  3. Dental and smile photographs
  4. Impressions or digital scanning
  5. Smile design, diagnostic wax-up, and smile mock-up
  6. Review of the proposed design
  7. Treatment of existing dental problems when required
  8. Minimal tooth preparation when required
  9. Final impression or scan and temporary veneers when required
  10. Laboratory fabrication
  11. Try-in to assess shade, shape, fit, and proportions
  12. Final bonding, bite assessment, aftercare instructions, and review

How many veneers may be needed

The number of veneers depends on how many teeth are visible when you smile, the width of the smile, differences in shade, tooth proportions, and the intended result. Treatment may involve one chipped tooth, two front teeth, four front teeth, six to eight teeth across the smile zone, or a broader group. The number should not be selected only from a fixed package because treating too few teeth can create a visible mismatch, while treating more teeth than necessary may not be appropriate.

Veneers compared with other treatments

TreatmentMain purposeTooth preparationCommon consideration
Porcelain veneersChange the visible shade and shape of relatively intact teethUsually less than a crownRequires suitable enamel, tooth structure, gums, and bite
Dental crownsRestore shape, strength, and appearanceUsually moreMay be more suitable for weak or heavily restored teeth
Composite bondingRepair smaller chips or make limited shape correctionsOften limitedUsually lower cost and may be repaired directly
Teeth whiteningLighten natural tooth shadeNo veneer preparationDoes not substantially change tooth shape, size, or position
Orthodontic treatmentMove teeth into a better positionDoes not reshape teeth with ceramicMay be more appropriate for significant crowding or bite problems

Veneers may improve the visible shape of some mildly rotated or mildly misaligned teeth, but they do not move teeth. Orthodontic treatment may create a more favorable position and reduce the amount of enamel preparation needed before veneers.

Grinding, durability, warranty, and risks

Patients who grind or clench require an assessment of tooth wear, bite, and chewing forces. Grinding can increase the risk of chipping, cracking, debonding, or excessive loading. Management may include bite adjustment, control of the grinding habit, follow-up, or a separately charged night guard.

Veneer durability depends on available enamel, preparation and bonding technique, material, bite forces, oral hygiene, habits, trauma, and review care. Possible limitations include temporary sensitivity, gum irritation, chipping, cracking, debonding, bite discomfort, visible shade differences, changes near the gum margin, decay affecting the natural tooth, and future repair or replacement. The final appearance is limited by the original teeth, gums, underlying shade, bite, and the changes that can be made safely.

Care after veneer placement

  • Brush at least twice daily and clean between the teeth
  • Avoid biting ice, very hard foods, pens, fingernails, or packaging
  • Wear a night guard when recommended
  • Attend advised review appointments
  • Arrange a check if the bite feels high or uneven
  • Contact the clinic if a veneer chips, cracks, feels loose, or food repeatedly becomes trapped

Temporary sensitivity, gum adaptation, or an unfamiliar feeling during speech or chewing can occur after bonding. Persistent pain, increasing sensitivity, swelling, bleeding, an uneven bite, a visible crack, unusual odor, margin changes, or trauma to a treated tooth should be assessed.

Payment and English-language care

The total cost is confirmed after the dentist assesses the teeth, expected number of veneers, selected material, and required treatment steps. Full payment is required according to the confirmed treatment plan. Treatment outside the main veneer process is quoted separately before it is performed.

Consultation, treatment planning, prices, preparation, material choices, shade and tooth-shape planning, risks, aftercare, warranty conditions, and follow-up can be explained directly in English. Written treatment information and practical schedule guidance can also help international patients plan their time in Hanoi.

Visiting Nha Khoa Mễ Trì for veneer treatment

Nha Khoa Mễ Trì is located at số 123, ngõ 32 Đỗ Đức Dục, Mễ Trì, Từ Liêm, Hà Nội. The clinic provides porcelain veneer assessments for patients in Mễ Trì, Mỹ Đình, Nam Từ Liêm, and other parts of Hanoi. First-time visitors should note the ngõ number, check their preferred map before leaving, and confirm the appointment in advance because traffic and journey times can vary.

When booking, explain the main change you are considering, whether you have current pain or gum concerns, whether you already have fillings, crowns, or veneers, and whether your stay in Hanoi is limited. Bring any recent dental records, photographs, or images that are available. These can support early discussion but do not replace the clinical examination.

International patients should normally allow approximately 1-2 weeks for examination, smile design, laboratory fabrication, try-in, final bonding, and adjustments. Additional dental or gum treatment may extend the schedule. Avoid arranging departure immediately after the expected bonding date, and allow time for a bite and comfort review when recommended. Remote discussion can help with preparation, but final suitability, timing, and cost are confirmed only after an in-person assessment.

Consultation and follow-up can be conducted in English. Appointment availability and current opening hours should be confirmed before travelling to the clinic.
